The thermodynamics of simple mechanical systems and social dynamics is treated in the framework of ordinary thermodynamics. Mechanics provides a non-dissipative framework with Hamiltonian time evolution. Thermodynamics is responsible for stability of equilibrium. The combination of the two theories provides general understanding of stable limit cycles of any dynamical system with Hamiltonian core dynamics. Lotka-Volterra type two species evolution is treated as an example.
