Ideas sobre la traducción litararia de Leopoldo Alas ‘Clarín’: el caso de La Eneida de Luis Herrera y Robles (1898)

Questo articolo propone un'analisi di alcune riflessioni sulla la traduzione letteraria che appaiono nell'opera critica di Leopoldo Alas 'Clarín'. Lo scrittore è uno dei pochi scrittori del suo tempo che ha espresso le sue opinioni su un’attività che, alla fine del XIX secolo, era ancora considerata completamente secondaria. Precorrendo i tempi, Clarín affronta con pertinenza questioni traduttive come la fedeltà del testo tradotto, la distanza e le differenze tra l'atto creativo e l'atto della traduzione, le qualità e le competenze del traduttore. In particolare, partendo dalla recensione di Clarín dell'Eneide tradotta da Luis Herrera y Robles, il saggio si concentra sulle idee dello scrittore sulla traduzione dei classici. This paper offers an analysis of the reflections on literary translation that appear in the critical work of Leopoldo Alas 'Clarín'. The writer is one of the few literary figures of his time to express his views on a task which, at the end of the 19th century, was still considered completely subaltern. Ahead of his time, Clarín tackles pertinently translatological questions such as the fidelity of the translated text, the distance and the differences between the creative act and the act of translation, and the qualities and skills of the translator. In particular, based on Clarín's review of the Aeneid translated by Luis Herrera y Robles, the essay focuses on the writer's ideas on the translation of the classics.
