Chyluria: the state of the art

Chyluria is the passage 01 chyle in the urine. The cause seems to be the rupture 01 retroperitoneal Iymphatics into the pyelocaliceal system, giving urine a milky appearance. This communication is caused by the obstruction 01 Iymphatie drainage proximal to intestinallacteals, resulting in dilatation 01 distai Iymphatics and the eventual rupture of Iymphatic vessels into the urinary collecting system. This condition, il left untreated, leads to significant morbidity because 01 hematochyluria, reeurrent renal calie, nutritional problems due to protein losses and immunosuppression resulting from Iymphocyturia.
