What meaning does the word Ghetto take in the lives of the European citizens with a migrant background? The project City Ghettos of Today tackled this question, which is described and analyzed by the author from a multidisciplinary perspective. This project was conceived by politically engaged artists from different European countries, and directed by the theatre playwright and director Pietro Floridia, between 2013 and 2015. The connection between transnational goals, and local social dynamics is now reconstructed in relation to the cities that hosted the project and to the specific theatre community processes that were enacted. Collective writing techniques, dramaturgical and scenic solutions are compared, in order to finally account for the most invisible forms of ghettoization which ultimately made the European policies tangible through art.

Abstract
What meaning does the word Ghetto take in the lives of the European citizens with a migrant background? The project City Ghettos of Today tackled this question, which is described and analyzed by the author from a multidisciplinary perspective. This project was conceived by politically engaged artists from different European countries, and directed by the theatre playwright and director Pietro Floridia, between 2013 and 2015. The connection between transnational goals, and local social dynamics is now reconstructed in relation to the cities that hosted the project and to the specific theatre community processes that were enacted. Collective writing techniques, dramaturgical and scenic solutions are compared, in order to finally account for the most invisible forms of ghettoization which ultimately made the European policies tangible through art.Pubblicazioni consigliate
