Abstract

[The sibling is fundamental in every social structure and becomes the hermeneutic key of every symmetrical and asymmetrical relationship. It is also the privileged tópos for co-education, that is, the affective, emotional, cognitive space in which one’s own identity is structured together with others. What determines the type of relationship between brothers and sisters is not only the relationship of the parents with their children but, above all, the way in which the parents relate to each other and, together, to their individual children and the outside world. Today the task of education is to teach how to preserve the sibling horizontality to allow the individual to come out from the solitude of the narcissisms of the “unique” and enter the new horizon of the presence of sisters and brothers].
