The paper tries to think together Bruno and Caravaggio starting from two images: Caravaggio’s Flagellation of Christ, created for the Church of San Domenico Maggiore, and Bruno’s image of Acton metamorphosis from De gli eroici furori. The two images, through the motif of the shadow, present a body’s metamorphosis, that is sign of an ethical and political transformation.
