La natura tragica dell'umano. Rileggendo uno stasimo sofocleo

Never as in this last period the need to rethink human nature emerges for many, and terrible reasons. We can’t help asking ourselves “who we are”, while our collective profile takes on the face increasingly harshly disfigured by planetary violence. Faced with the crisis of technical-cultural models that seemed incorruptible, the horrors of wars, the disintegration of the political pact, the lack of interest in the frailties – of man, as well as of the planet – the interrogation itself takes a kind of tragic. And it draw to the essential side of man, the constitutively disturbing trait – deinon – evoked by the first stasimon of Antigone, on which this contribution is based. Sophocles reveals in verse important categories of our thought inherited from Greece, through a poetic composition that appears dazzling because man and nature face each other in a double sense.
