The contribution focuses on the history of the Royal Institute of Geography of the University of Palermo, reconstituted as Chair of Geography of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy in the second post-war period by professor Piero Landini. The paper focuses on the cultural events recorded in its relevant library heritage, up to its transformation into the Geographical Section of the Department of Cultural Heritage, today the Department of Culture and Society. The events of the Geography in Palermo will be interpreted in the light of the profound epistemological transformations that have seen them protagonists of the fertile encounter with the anthropological disciplines culminating in the formation of a local geographical School.
