Abstract
Modern cars are always better equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to help the driver and the passengers in many activities related to both the safety and the infotainment sphere. The present contribution gives an insight on the current radar technology and on the future challenges for the next generation in-cabin detection systems. Different case studies will be investigated, i.e., concerning passenger presence detection, inattentive driver behavior and touch-free infotainment system control. An experimental analysis is carried out inside a car to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed solution. To this purpose, a 24-GHz radar board has been designed and realized with in-house laboratory facilities.Pubblicazioni consigliate
