Recent reflections on the Lucanization of the Calabrese area of the golf of Policastro · The paper presents the archaeology of Lucanians in the Policastro Gulf. Recent research in Nerulum-Laino and older investigations in Laos and Blanda make it possible to reconstruct the settlement system of the Tyrrhenian Calabrian district, the historical and developmental dynamics of the cities, and the socio-economic aspects of the Lucanian presence between the 4th and mid-3rd centuries bc. Through systematic analysis, we discover how the Lucanians developed economically and had urbanistically organized centers from the last years of the 4th century bc.
