Burials with Weapons from the Necropolis of Gela · The necropolis of Gela has been the subject of several studies that have highlighted especially from the social point of view a general mesotes observed by aristocratic family groups that undoubtedly have had an important role in the growth of the local community in the archaic age. In the present work are analyzed exclusively graves with weapons, all multiple. To these have been added some doubtful elements of weapons from the single grave 9 of Capo Soprano. The relationship between the presence of the metal finds related to the war, the different types of burial, in which they were found, and the rites adopted were therefore examinated, also with an anthropological approach. In general, weapons and armor elements are undoubtedly related to the aristocratic environment, but the presence of the weapon is probably not due to unique cause.
