2016 was not a year in which Europeanist feelings were stimulated. The UK’s referendum, terrorist attacks, ongoing wars in not-so-remote locations, and populist waves hitting alternatively on Eurocrats and on migrants. Nevertheless, the day-to-day work of the European institutions, especially in the field of criminal law and procedure, has not stopped, and it could perhaps be said that it made significant progress towards the harmonization of legislation on criminal proceedings. The present work is a chronicle of the most significant developments occurred in the field of European Union criminal law and criminal procedure in the course of 2016, divided into four parts.

Abstract
2016 was not a year in which Europeanist feelings were stimulated. The UK’s referendum, terrorist attacks, ongoing wars in not-so-remote locations, and populist waves hitting alternatively on Eurocrats and on migrants. Nevertheless, the day-to-day work of the European institutions, especially in the field of criminal law and procedure, has not stopped, and it could perhaps be said that it made significant progress towards the harmonization of legislation on criminal proceedings. The present work is a chronicle of the most significant developments occurred in the field of European Union criminal law and criminal procedure in the course of 2016, divided into four parts.Pubblicazioni consigliate
