This contribution focuses on three novels by the Sephardic author Esther Bendahan, Deshojando alcachofas (2005), Déjalo, ya volveremos (2006), and La cara de Marte (2007). The aim of the article is to analyze how, through these works, the author goes through the process of construction of herself as a subject, rereading it from different perspectives and establishing a dialectical relationship between her self-image and her hetero-image.
