In this article, within the framework of the method of differential constraints, we develop a reduction procedure aimed at determining exact solutions to a first order hyperbolic system which describes nerve pulse propagation. In fact, we look for particular double wave solutions and we reduce the integration of the full system to that of a suitable 2 x 2 sub-system. The solutions we obtain are determined in terms of arbitrary functions.

Abstract
