ON TOURISM DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL BOROUGHS: CASALVECCHIO SICULO AND ITS OPPORTUNITIES. - The theme of development policies constitutes one of the most important elements in territorial governance aimed at enhancing the environmental and cultural heritage. Casalvecchio Siculo, a municipality in the metropolitan city of Messina, of great historical value for its medieval village but still on the edge of the large tourist flows, has obtained funding under the PNRR, for the tourist and cultural promotion of the area. An unprecedented opportunity both for the revitalization and growth of the socio-economic fabric and for promoting new tourist experiences in order to stem the phenomenon of depopulation and recover the cultural heritage of the area.
