Policy actions to redevelop urban contexts and their energy-intensive building stock are supported by sustainability protocols in order to identify strategies to reduce environmental impact, including the conscious reuse of pre-existing buildings. This should lead to recognise works with stylistic, technical-constructive and cultural peculiarities to be preserved in the area of intervention by virtue of their testimonial value. After the analysis of the rating systems currently available, the GBC Quartieri and ITACA Scala Urbana protocols were compared by evaluating limits and potential of their implementation in contexts hosting examples of Modern social housing, a heritage not yet recognised as such. The critical analysis of the guidelines showed that these instruments encourage the reuse of buildings but the approaches are not always precautionary for the preservation of the architectural heritage. In the near future it will be necessary to stimulate more debate among the different stakeholders so that sustainability is increasingly approached from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Abstract
In the near future it will be necessary to stimulate more debate among the different stakeholders so that sustainability is increasingly approached from an interdisciplinary perspective.Pubblicazioni consigliate
