This work illustrates the conservation and reintegration work carried out in the Mercado de Colón, a public market of Valencia, designed between 1914 and 1916 by architect Francisco Mora Berenger. The building belongs to the city's modernist architecture and has a considerable historical and artistic value due to the richness of its decoration with a plurality of materials and ornamental techniques belonging to the city's cultural heritage. The methodology adopted consisted in the preliminary study of the technological and morphological elements, the production processes of the materials, construction technologies and ornamental techniques, the definition of the pathological framework and the execution of interventions with the reintegration of ornamental parts. The methodology adopted and the effectiveness of the results obtained in the conservation of the market demonstrate how any intervention in the recovery and con servation of the built heritage requires a multidisciplinary approach with the involvement and dialogue of different skills, from art historians to materials and architectural technologists, from restorers to operators in the execution phase.
