This paper aims to provide an overview of a didactic experience conducted as part of a research project aimed at promoting the use of the German language on farms in the southern Italian region of Sicily. The description of the teaching experience, which took place between March and July 2022 at an oil mill in the hinterland of the province of Catania and had at its center a German course for beginners (25 hours) and a specialized language module (15 hours), is anticipated by a reflection on the company dimension as a place of learning and on the possibility of identifying the characteristics of German courses in companies starting from as-sumptions linked to the so-called berufsorientierter/berufsbezogener Unterricht (job-oriented teaching).
