The paper highlights the issue of school dropout, a complex and multifactorial phenomenon widespread in many countries. This contribution specifically focuses on the Sicilian city of Messina, where a high dropout rate of 7.64% is recorded according to Ministry of Education. Beyond its numerical representation, this phenomenon is one of the various manifestations of educational poverty. Therefore, the primary objective of this work is to contemplate possible prevention and intervention actions. These actions should encompass a multidimensional approach involving the participation of students, the local community, institutions, and experts.
