Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore retrospectively the digital text genres that we used as samples in our research project “Eu-MaDE4LL: European Multimodal and Digital Education for Language Learning”, which was completed in 2019. Our experiences with these digital text genres in intercultural scenarios informed the Common Framework of Reference for Intercultural Digital Literacies (CFRIDiL, Sindoni et al. 2019), a set of guidelines for the self, peer and teacher assessment of personal repertoires of digital skills. Our intention is to reflect on the technological and social changes in fanvids, ‘About us’ webpages, and video interactions to see possible follows up to the framework. Our reflections consider: 1) context; 2) media affordances, semiotic resources, and new platforms/resemiotisation processes; 3) communicative practices and discourses.
