The essay explores the characteristics of the so-called “Z Generation” in the light of sociological and psychological readings on the subject, in order to grasp the challenges and opportunities facing the world of education. The focus on today's adolescents and young people allows for a critical reinterpretation of the traditional pedagogical work and constitutes the occasion for the adoption of a new theoretical perspective on education that finds its most appropriate horizon in the Capability Approach of Sen and Nussbaum.
