This paper examines the ambivalent nature and defensive function of students' problematic behaviors, highlighting the limitations of the prescriptive-normative approach and conventional punishments. Through the analysis of specific cases, such as the protagonist of the film Taare Zameen Par (Like Stars on Earth), it is observed that problematic behaviors can also serve as defensive strategies to cope with specific difficulties and complexities. Alternative educational reflections and interventions are proposed, aiming to foster understanding, support, and the promotion of critical responsibility in students, rather than resorting to punishment, humiliation, and mortification.
