The text reflects on the potentialities and on the methodological and epistemological implications that the use of social networks can bring to historiography and, specifically, to oral history. We will refer to concrete cases in which the use of social networks has allowed to enrich the research dedicated to the so-called “historia reciente”. Facebook groups of ex-workers of a company, of neighbors, of ex-militants of political organizations or simply of people united by the same lived experience, have appeared in recent years in the virtual scenario of the web. The texts, memories and documents posted and shared have transformed social networks into real "places" where, without the mediation of historians, a reflection on the idea of a common past has taken place and continues to take place freely. These “places”, although ephemeral and without a real physicality, are a resource for historical research interested in the phenomenon of memory and offer useful ideas and reflections about the new challenges that historiography will have to face.

Abstract
These “places”, although ephemeral and without a real physicality, are a resource for historical research interested in the phenomenon of memory and offer useful ideas and reflections about the new challenges that historiography will have to face.Pubblicazioni consigliate
