My proposal aims to present Derrida’s reflections on Europe and its role in the global age, demonstrating that deconstruction does not remain enclosed in speculative discourses, but aspires to intervene ethically in the world. Deconstruction relates to concepts as well as institutions; it not only interprets them, but equally transforms them. Derrida intends to do justice to Europe, that means making a radical critique of its actuality, but at the same time recognising its promise to-come. This double gesture includes the sense of the double science, which Derrida names deconstruction, as it marks the interval between a simple overturning and the emergence of a new concept or a new institution.

Abstract
My proposal aims to present Derrida’s reflections on Europe and its role in the global age, demonstrating that deconstruction does not remain enclosed in speculative discourses, but aspires to intervene ethically in the world. Deconstruction relates to concepts as well as institutions; it not only interprets them, but equally transforms them. Derrida intends to do justice to Europe, that means making a radical critique of its actuality, but at the same time recognising its promise to-come. This double gesture includes the sense of the double science, which Derrida names deconstruction, as it marks the interval between a simple overturning and the emergence of a new concept or a new institution.Pubblicazioni consigliate
