We intend to investigate the iconographic representation of the Augustae in Roman provincial coinage as human and/or divine characters also through the analysis of their representation in relation to the images on the opposite side of the coins, classified according to homologous categories (characters, human or mythological, fauna, monstra, flora and res). Among these images, an attempt will be made to identify the privileged patterns according to the iconographic categories of reference by analysing their development diachronically in order to identify any recurring patterns. The iconographic themes collected will be examined at a general level through both qualitative and quantitative analysis in relation to the first two centuries of the Empire, prior to the Severan period.
