Mediterranean region is one of the main climate change hotspots, and some areas may particularly suffer from the main consequences of rising temperatures. Among these stand out the Aeolian Islands (Sicily), already affected by increasingly recurrent extreme weather events and more extensive and intense drought periods than usual, that are threatened by the intersection between the process of sea level rise (global scenario) and their structural subsidence (local characteristic). Building on these premises, and seeking to contribute to the research on the inextricable relationship between climate change and tourism, the questions arise: how is global warming affecting tourism in the Aeolian Islands? In what ways might the unfolding climate emergency influence tourism supply and demand in the archipelago?

Abstract
In what ways might the unfolding climate emergency influence tourism supply and demand in the archipelago?Pubblicazioni consigliate
