This study is lead to estimate the qualitative composition of the juvenile stages of fish during the authorized period of fishery, in two zones of the Sicily: Patti Gulf (Eastern Tyrrhenian coast) and Sciacca (Strait of Sicily). The most abundant species has been always Sardinella aurita with a progressive decrement in favour of Sardina pilchardus and Engraulis encrasicolus in both sites.
