The aim of this research was to value the levels of DDTs, PCBs and some metals in T. thinnus samples living in the Strait of Messina and in the commercial samples of tuna fish. The obtained results provide evidence that the observed pollutants ubiquist presence in wild samples indicate a moderate contamination level of the Mediterranean Sea. The commercial tuna fish provided to consumer is safe; in fact the contamination level is very low.
