Different extracts of Mitracarpus scaber Zucc. aerial parts were individually investigated for in vitro antibacteric and antimycotic activities against strains of laboratory microorganisms and clinical isolates responsible for skin infections. The etheric extract possesses a rather good activity on all tested members of Candida sp. with MICs ranged from 12.5-25 μg/ml. Staphylococci were inhibited at 6.25-25 μg/ml. The results confirm rationale for the folkloric use of the plant in treating fungal and bacterial infections.

Abstract
Different extracts of Mitracarpus scaber Zucc. aerial parts were individually investigated for in vitro antibacteric and antimycotic activities against strains of laboratory microorganisms and clinical isolates responsible for skin infections. The etheric extract possesses a rather good activity on all tested members of Candida sp. with MICs ranged from 12.5-25 μg/ml. Staphylococci were inhibited at 6.25-25 μg/ml. The results confirm rationale for the folkloric use of the plant in treating fungal and bacterial infections.File in questo prodotto:
