The Authors test the antibacterial activity of Anisakis simplex larvae L3 and Gymnorhynchus gigas plerocercoid larvae versus n. 17 bacterial strains by agar diffusion assay. It was found that, the homogenate of Anisakis simplex inhibited Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus faecium strains and also the homogenate of Gymnorhynchus gigas inhibited only Streptococcus faecium strain. On the result, the Authors presume the aforementioned parasite could, somehow, interfere with the bacteriological state of fish.
