Huntington disease (HD) is caused by elongated huntingtin (Htt) expressed in all body tissues. However, only one report on a mouse model described enteric neuron abnormalities, i.e. neuropeptides dysfunction [1]. Such kind of abnormalities in human HD, as documented in other neurodegenerative diseases [2], may give us the opportunity to characterize a series of peripheral and gastrointestinal manifestations occurring in this devastating genetic disease [3].

Abstract
Huntington disease (HD) is caused by elongated huntingtin (Htt) expressed in all body tissues. However, only one report on a mouse model described enteric neuron abnormalities, i.e. neuropeptides dysfunction [1]. Such kind of abnormalities in human HD, as documented in other neurodegenerative diseases [2], may give us the opportunity to characterize a series of peripheral and gastrointestinal manifestations occurring in this devastating genetic disease [3].File in questo prodotto:
