This paper aims to give a contribution to the biography of Alessandro Sozzini (1508-1541), son of the Jurisconsult Mariano and legal scholar himself. Born in the capital city of the Republic of Siena, Alessandro Sozzini had a short but intense life: after he got his degree in law, he taught in his hometown and also in Padua (in the Venetian Republic) and in Macerata (in the Papal States), where he died. He is an emblematic example of mobility of the intellectuals in 16th century, who travelled around many cities and states of the Italian Peninsula teaching in the Studia of the Renaissance.
