The repertory grid technique proposed by Kelly (1955) has been used in a research-intervention on work-related stress in order to investigate the personal and professional experiences of a group of health care workers. This group was composed of 81 senior physicians, nurses and managers with coordinating responsibilities, all of whom worked as part of a large health care organization in northern Italy. The survey was based on the strong points and critical aspects that had emerged in a previous evaluation of work-related stress among the employees of the same health organization. Findings provide useful indications for further research-intervention initiatives, as well as formative counseling at both group and individual levels. The results also highlight the modernity, flexibility and usefulness of the repertory grid technique in organizational studies. © 2013 Cises.
