Terra e paesaggio nella geofilosofia italiana

The paper aims to illustrate the geophilosophical interpretation of the phenomenon of dwelling on the earth and the concept of landscape with particular reference to the work of Luisa Bonesio. Starting from Heideggerian reflections on earth and place and from Jüngerian analyses of the homologating and desecrating power of technology, Bonesio elaborates a wide-ranging geophilosophical reflection on the landscape aimed at subtracting this concept from its purely aesthetic and subjectivist interpretation. Rather, the landscape is interpreted as the physiognomic and cultural expression of a specific place where a specific community lives. Picking up on Simmelian analyses of the landscape and the studies of some exponents of German cultural geography, Bonesio thus outlines a proper physiognomy of the landscape capable of highlighting the singularity of places and their historical and cultural potential.
