Connectomique urbaine. Une étude pilote pour la ville de Messine

Qu’est-ce qui rend une ville unique ? À partir de quelques contributions théoriques et empiriques remarquables, l’article tentera de montrer comment l’image urbaine est toujours le résultat d’un « processus collectif continu de re-signification » (Boeri, 2016). C’est un imaginaire qui opère à travers des représentations sociales spatialisées selon des connexions structurelles, fonctionnelles et émergentes. L’hypothèse est que ces connexions ont non seulement une évidence géographique mais une topologie, pas du tout neutre, qui qualifie de manière caractéristique la marque mentale d’une ville. À travers l’étude des connectivités structurelles et fonctionnelles de certaines représentations sociales dans l’espace géographique, nous arriverons à l’élaboration de cartes qui, en raison de l’approche méthodologique particulière, sont ici définies comme des connectomes urbains. Based on some remarkable theoretical and empirical contributions, this paper will try to show how the urban image is always the result of a "continuous collective process of re-signification" (Boeri 2016). It is an imaginary that operates through spatialized social representations according to structural, functional, and emergent connections. The hypothesis is that these connections have not only a geographical evidence but a topology, not at all neutral, which qualifies in a characteristic way the mental brand of a city. Through the study of the structural and functional connectivities of certain social representations in geographical space, we will arrive at the development of maps which, due to the particular methodological approach, are defined here as urban connectomes.]
